 Police have advised the public to avoid the Västhaga district, where the school is situated, as students are being relocated to other schools.

Five people have been shot at a school in Örebro, central Sweden, according to Swedish police on Tuesday.

"The charges currently include attempted murder, arson, and aggravated weapons offense," police stated, without specifying who had been charged.

A large-scale operation is underway following the shooting, which occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m. local time (6:33 a.m. ET). The extent of the injuries remains unclear, police said in a press release.

A spokesperson for local rescue services told Reuters that ambulances, rescue teams, and police are at the scene. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the Västhaga district, where the school is located. For safety reasons, students have been relocated to nearby schools.
