Ohio State leads Notre Dame 28-7 in the third quarter.

Notre Dame struck first when Riley Leonard ran for a 1-yard touchdown with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter, giving the Fighting Irish a 7-0 lead. However, Ohio State quickly took control.

Star freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith hauled in an 8-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter, tying the game at 7-7 with 14:10 on the clock. The Buckeyes extended their lead to 14-7 later in the quarter, thanks to a 9-yard touchdown run by Quinshon Judkins with 6:15 remaining.

Just before halftime, quarterback Will Howard orchestrated a 12-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown reception by Judkins, giving Ohio State a 21-7 advantage at the break.

The Buckeyes carried their momentum into the second half, opening the third quarter with another scoring drive capped by Judkins' third touchdown of the game, a rushing score that put them up 28-7.
