"Vanderpump Rules" Star James Kennedy and Ally Lewber End Relationship Following Arrest and Investigation
James Kennedy, known for his role on Vanderpump Rules, and girlfriend Ally Lewber have ended their relationship following Kennedy's arrest and an investigation into a domestic violence incident.
Lewber announced the breakup in an Instagram Story on Wednesday, expressing her dismay at how media outlets have portrayed the recent events.
Kennedy was arrested in December in Burbank, California, on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence after police responded to a call at his residence. According to a police report, a woman told officers that "her boyfriend lifted her up and threw her to the ground." Kennedy was taken into custody at 11:50 p.m.
Despite the incident, Lewber stated she has no intention of pursuing criminal charges. "I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges," she wrote. Lewber explained the argument stemmed from concerns about Kennedy resuming drinking but clarified, "I was not physically hurt."
Kennedy's attorneys, Scott Leemon and Leonard Levine, previously confirmed to NBC News that no injuries were reported. Representatives for Kennedy have not commented on Lewber's statement.
Lewber expressed gratitude to her supporters and wished Kennedy well, emphasizing her hope for his continued sobriety journey.
Kennedy has been open about his struggles with alcohol, sharing his sobriety milestones with fans on social media and on Vanderpump Rules. In 2020, he celebrated one year of sobriety on Instagram, writing, "Letting go of drinking was the best decision I ever made... life has become more beautiful in many ways."
