Grimes is speaking out about her son’s privacy, following his public appearance with his father, Elon Musk, in Washington, D.C.

Musk, 53, brought their 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, to the Oval Office on Tuesday, February 11, as President Donald Trump signed an executive order enhancing the Department of Government Efficiency's powers.

While Musk answered questions from reporters and defended DOGE’s actions, X Æ A-Xii was seen making faces and interacting with his father in front of the cameras. Grimes, who shares three children with Musk, later revealed that she wasn’t aware of the appearance until she saw a post from an X user.

She responded on X, writing, "He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank you for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh."

Her response came after an X user commented on her post, praising her son’s politeness and cuteness when he told President Trump, "Please forgive me, I need to pee."

Since her separation from Musk in 2022, Grimes has distanced herself from her ex, with whom she shares X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus.

In light of Musk’s controversial one-armed gesture resembling a Nazi salute in January, Grimes also took to X to denounce Nazism and clarify her position, stating, “It’s absurd that someone can be this cancelled for something their ex did before they even heard it happened. I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something. I can only send love back into a world that is hurting."

She continued, "To be clear, I could go talk s---, get on magazine covers, and become a feminist hero, but that would serve no purpose. I choose my children's well-being."
