Former Major League pitchers Pat Mahomes and John Rocker got into a heated argument during Super Bowl week in New Orleans, with the entire exchange captured and shared on social media.

The confrontation unfolded outside a restaurant, where Mahomes—the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes—was standing as Rocker emerged and extended a handshake. Mahomes, who played for six MLB teams over 11 seasons, refused the gesture, swatting Rocker’s hand away and igniting a verbal clash.

The two exchanged insults, with Mahomes calling Rocker a "menace to society." The argument, though intense, was eventually diffused.

Rocker, best known for his time as a reliever with the Atlanta Braves and three other teams, gained notoriety in 1999 for a controversial Sports Illustrated interview in which he made inflammatory remarks about minorities and immigrants.

After the video surfaced online, speculation arose over whether the altercation was staged. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy claimed the two had agreed to face off in a Rough 'N' Rowdy boxing match, a promotion run by the company. "I believe we have a signed agreement for Mahomes Sr. to fight John Rocker," Portnoy said, adding, "I don’t know, that’s why I don’t want the paperwork to get ripped up."
