The Brutalist had a remarkable night at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, which celebrated the year's finest in television and film. The film, which entered the evening with seven nominations, took home several prestigious honors. Adrien Brody claimed his first Golden Globe for his role as Brady Corbet, while Corbet himself earned Best Director for his work on the movie, which also won Best Drama Motion Picture.
On the film side, Emilia Pérez by Jacques Audiard led the nominations with ten, spanning categories like acting, directing, writing, and music. Its stars, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña, received acting nominations, while Audiard was recognized for his directing, songwriting, and screenplay. Emilia Pérez took home awards for Best Musical or Comedy and Best Original Song, with Saldaña winning Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
Conclave, a thriller about the election of a new pope, received six nominations, winning Best Screenplay.
In television, The Bear led with five nominations, although its sole win came in the form of Jeremy Allen White’s victory for Best Actor in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy.
Comedian Nikki Glaser made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo. Although nominated for her stand-up special Someday You'll Die, Glaser lost to Ali Wong.
The 2025 Golden Globes aired live on CBS and can be streamed on Paramount+, with replays available starting Monday.
