| Sydney Sweeney Just Clapped Back At Body Shamers Anadolu |
In response, the Anyone But You star flaunted her impressive fitness routine.
The 27-year-old had been training hard for an upcoming role as boxer Christy Martin in a biopic.
Sydney Sweeney is fighting back against body shamers—quite literally.
Here's the context: Last week, publications like the Daily Mail published paparazzi images of Sydney relaxing at her waterfront mansion in the Florida Keys. In the photos, she’s seen lounging by the pool in a purple swimsuit, engaging in everyday activities such as walking, adjusting her top, and fixing her hair.
Naturally, some online commenters on Reddit went wild, dissecting Sydney's appearance while she was just enjoying her time at home.
Rather than ignoring these unfair comments, the Euphoria star took to Instagram to share the criticism. Some of the remarks included: “Is she pregnant? Did she get stung by a nest of wasps? Did she dive into a pool full of donuts and chips?” and “She looks quite frumpy, doesn’t she?”
After showcasing the negative comments, the video transitions to footage of Sydney performing intense exercises like boxing, flipping heavy tires, and lifting weights like a pro. The video concludes with one name: Christy Martin. Why? Because Sydney trained extensively to portray the professional boxer in an upcoming biopic, which is currently in post-production, according to IMDb. The film does not yet have an official release date or title.
While Sydney's preparation for the movie is clear, she's no stranger to staying active. She told Women’s Health that she enjoys slalom waterskiing.
“It works your upper body, your balance, your core, and legs—you get tired fast,” she said. “After a summer of skiing, I notice my arms are stronger and more sculpted, and my abs are rock solid. But I never view it as a workout because it’s so much fun.”
Sydney also loves hiking with her dog, Tank, and has practiced mixed martial arts (MMA) for years, according to Women’s Health. Running, strength training, and Solidcore—a challenging full-body Pilates workout—are also part of her routine.
Sydney’s message to body shamers is clear: Sit down.
