Authorities were actively investigating a residential property north of Madison, Wisconsin—just eight miles from Abundant Life Christian School, where two people were fatally shot on Monday, according to CNN affiliate WTMJ.

Video footage shows a home adorned with Christmas lights and surrounded by police tape. The front door had been removed, and the windows sustained visible damage. WTMJ reported that neighbors saw police deploy stun grenades—devices that detonate with a bright flash and loud noise—into the home earlier that afternoon.

Witnesses said police had been coming and going from the property throughout the afternoon, beginning just after the shooting occurred and continuing until nightfall. One neighbor described the scene to WTMJ: "I heard the news this afternoon and thought, well, we’ll just drive by the main drag, and there it was. The front door was taken off and nobody was around, and the detectives are in there mopping up the mess."

Earlier on Monday, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes confirmed that the suspect’s home had been searched and that investigators are in the process of pursuing additional search warrants. The suspect, a 15-year-old, has had family members cooperating with law enforcement, and Barnes noted that the parents are not being considered for charges "at this time."

Barnes did confirm that the significant police presence in northern Madison is connected to the investigation into the shooting but refrained from providing additional information.
